VOLUNTEER
What Can I Do to Help?
We believe that everyone is called to serve and help others and that we have been gifted by God to do things – things that bless people, change lives, and build up the church. Simply put, Christianity is not a spectator sport. We invite you to be participants in the work that God is doing in and through His church.
Volunteering…one of the best ways to get involved and feel connected at Hope! Browse the different areas you can volunteer in below, or view current volunteer opportunities.
First Impressions
This ministry is where “God’s love is experienced through ordinary people…” Acts 4:13. We are people that love creating a welcoming atmosphere at Hope – from the time you drive into our parking lots to finding a seat in the auditorium. We cover Hope Community Church both outside and inside and behind-the-scenes.
We are the Greeters, Guides, Guest Services, Parking, Shuttle Drivers, Gathering Place, Ushers, Common Grounds Café, Security, and Medical Teams.
Arts
Arts includes Drama, Music and several behind-the-scene teams!
From smaller dramas to full scale productions, our Drama opportunities give adults the ability use their talents in our weekend services. These opportunities include acting as well as behind-the-scenes production teams that assist in things like building sets, making costumes and other production tasks. From time to time, they may be asked to assist with sketches in the weekend children's services and may also be asked to participate with the production drama company in large-scale theatrical presentations.
Questions about the Drama team? Contact Debbie Dodson.
The music at Hope is contemporary and exciting and led by teams of musicians who have a heart for truly worshipping God and for leading others to do the same. Vocal Worship Teams are for auditioned singers who can learn music and vocal parts quickly, blend extremely well, are suited stylistically to the music sung at Hope, are available to sing at a moment’s notice, and are extremely flexible and spiritually mature. There are currently three six-member teams (2 sopranos, 2 altos, 2 tenors/baritones) which rotate on a weekly basis and are responsible to sing at all weekend services.
The musicians in the worship band are selected by audition and must exhibit spiritual maturity, be a regular part of the fellowship and be of a high musical caliber.
Auditions for worship team will be held on September 19th, 2010. Click here for more information and to register.
Questions about the vocal worship teams or worship band? Contact Karl Moraski.
Auditions are required for both Drama and Worship teams and are announced in the weekly e-news, the bulletin, or our Events calendar. Auditionees must have completed the Discovery Class class prior to auditioning.
Children
KidCity volunteers show kids God’s love and help kids love church in a fun, energetic and creative environment every weekend. KidCity includes everything from worship songs, interacting with fun characters and creative Bible stories, to small groups where relationships are formed and God’s Word is reinforced for every day life. Whether you work with children, operate a computer, or set up during the week, we have an opportunity for you.
There are various opportunities to volunteer in KidCity. Some of these include nursery helper, registration, small group leader and large group leader. All of these are a rewarding way to help show kids God's love!
Midweek Opportunities
Do you have a couple of hours each week to help regularly in Hope’s office? Several areas including KidCity, Administration, and Facilities are looking for people willing to join their Midweek teams!
Midweek Opportunities also include one-time service opportunities such as decorating the church at Christmas time.
Skilled Services
Do you have a computer or financial background? Skilled Services include special needs we are looking for within Hope Community Church. Skilled Services may require weekday and/or weekend time.
Students
There are many opportunities for adult leaders who want to make an impact for Christ in a student’s life. We are looking for men & women who have a deep commitment to Christ and a desire to care for middle school and high school aged students. As a team of volunteers, we all strive to work together with the same vision for seeing our students to grow in their relationship with Christ.
Technical Arts
Be a part of a team that has the challenge and opportunity to present a professional looking production in a relevant way! Technical Arts includes video, audio and lighting for our weekend services. Potential volunteers have experience in amateur or professional production environment or include those people who enjoy tinkering with or operating electronic equipment.
