CHURCH TAKES CONTEMPORARY LOOK AT GOOD FRIDAY EVENTS
Drama Team to Present "Pilate on the Beach" |
Raleigh, NC -- Hope Community Church of southwest Raleigh will present the Good Friday dramatic play Pilate on the Beach on April 14 at 6:00 and 8:00 PM. The church is located at 821 Buck Jones Road near the Crossroads and South Hills shopping areas.
Pilate on the Beach takes a contemporary look at the life of Pontius Pilate following the death of Christ. Banished to the island of Lypos, Pilate plays over and over in his mind the events that led to the crucifixion and his potential guilt in those events. The one-act memory play moves back and forth between the past and present capturing the passion and intensity of one man's guilt as he struggles, like many of us, with who Jesus was and is.
Pilate on the Beach is performed by the adult drama team of Hope Community Church. Doors open 30 minutes prior to each performance and childcare for nursery through preschool ages is provided.
