CHURCH MEMBERSHIP
By design, Hope is a safe place for seekers to hear the message
of Jesus Christ. Consequently, we attract many seekers, observers,
and guests — people who are cautious about making commitments.
It's no surprise then, that the size of our crowd (attenders)
is larger than the size of our congregation (members). We hope
that will always be the case.
As a church, we are a community made up of guests, regular
attenders and participating members. When a regular attender decides
they'd like to become a committed participant in the vibrant life
of the church, they consider becoming a participating member.
At Hope, members are not just names in a database—they
are the core of this church. Members are committed to discipleship
lived out in community. As in Acts 2:42, they are devoted “to
the fellowship”—to a specific local body.
One of the best ways to learn more about participating membership
at Hope is to enroll in the Membership Class. This class is led by our senior pastor. Participation in the
class is part of the membership process but there is no obligation
-- we want you to get to know us and be able to choose for yourself
if this is the right place for you to invest your life serving
God and other people.
