CHURCH TO FEATURE HIGH SCHOOL DRUMLINE IN SUNDAY SERVICES
Athens High School Drumline Special Guests at Hope Community Church
Raleigh, NC -- The Athens High School Drumline has once again been invited to present their unique rendition of "The Little Drummer Boy" in the December 17 Sunday morning services of Hope Community Church. Service times are 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. Hope Community Church is located at 821 Buck Jones Road in Raleigh, near the Crossroads/South Hills area.
The 16-member percussion group's rendition of the "The Little Drummer Boy" is fast becoming a holiday tradition both at their high school and in the surrounding community. "Folks just really seem to enjoy this and now request it every Christmas," states Band Director, Jerry Markoch. "It's certainly a fitting number to present in church."
The drumline will present the song and one additional number at both of the Sunday morning services at Hope and the community is invited to attend. Explains Hope's Creative Arts Director, Debbie Dodson, "We think it's great when we can invite other members of our community to be a part of our Christmas celebrations. The song they are presenting helps us all remember how wonderful Christmas can be when we bring whatever we have and offer it symbolically to the Christ Child at Christmas."
