Over the course of King David’s long, crazy life, he made plenty of mistakes—many of which ended in disaster. But by the end of his life, he finally learned to trust God, no matter what the circumstances.

In this series, we’re taking a look at a few different episodes from David’s life, including some lesser known stories, in order to examine that process of developing wisdom.

Life Lessons, Week Two:

King Saul, along with 3,000 men, is pursuing David (1 Samuel 24:1-7)

  • Saul finds himself in a compromising position, and David has a choice to make

Just because something seems like a God-thing doesn’t mean it’s a God-thing

Determining God’s will isn’t as simple as interpreting your circumstances

David determined God’s will and made his decision based on three things:

  • Respect for the law of God
  • Respect for the principles of God
  • Respect for the wisdom of God

Parting Thought: God does not leave us to make decisions based on our ability to interpret circumstances
