Special Needs Ministry

Our Special Needs ministry mission is to empower and provide support to individuals with special needs and their families by facilitating an accepting community in which to grow in their relationship with Jesus.

Our program provides individualized support during weekend services to ensure everyone has the opportunity to participate in their specific ministry environment.

Additionally, we encourage individuals with special needs to serve their church community at a level that is appropriate for them. Everyone is welcome!

Request Support

Interested in volunteering? We need volunteers who have a passion for special needs to serve in our ministry in a variety of capacities. You don’t have to be an expert — we’ll equip and train you.

View the opportunities

Special Needs families deserve a place to connect, feel encouraged and find support along their journey. Welcoming all families impacted by special needs, Family Connect Night meets on the third Thursday of each month, 7 – 8:30 p.m. at the Raleigh campus. Bring your entire family! Break-outs and more information included below. Our next one is May 18. We can’t wait to meet you!

Parent/Caregiver Support

Join other parents/caregivers of children with special needs for prayer, discussion and fellowship! Parents/Caregivers connect each month to discuss “Held-Learning to Live in God’s Grip.” This book is written by Lee Peoples, a father to a child with special needs.

Middle and High School Students

Lyft connects students who have siblings with special needs. Join us for snacks, sharing, games and fellowship with other students your age.

Other Family Members

Trained special needs ministry volunteers provide loving care for individuals with special needs and elementary-age siblings during this time.

Offered at the Raleigh campus at the 4:15 p.m. (Saturday) and 11:15 a.m. (Sunday) services and at the 11 a.m. service at Apex, participants (high school and older) attend worship then join us in a classroom for teaching and connection on a developmentally appropriate level. My husband and I can now worship together knowing that Claire is safe and cared for by someone who knows her issues and accepts her as the child of God she is! We are thrilled to be a part of the Buddy Ministry and feel that her buddy, Cathy, is part of our family!”
